Inspired By Her Region
Inspired By Her Region is a creative program inviting women and gender-diverse people from across the Orana region to create new works inspired by the lives, voices, and stories of women from our region’s past.
This project forms part of the Inspired By Her collaboration — a multi-stage creative partnership celebrating women’s stories through reimagined works by contemporary women artists.
Selected works will be curated by Erifili Davies and showcased as part of the Inspired By Her opening event featuring Eleanor Limprecht, Rachael Beck, and Erifili Davies on Monday 2 March 2026 — the opening night of the Orana Every Woman Festival. Works will also feature online at the festival’s main venue and on the official festival website.
Rachael Beck
Award-winning performer of stage and screen. In Inspired By Her, Rachael brings the written word to life through voice, movement and song, connecting historical and contemporary women’s stories in real time with the audience.
Eleanor Limprecht
Acclaimed novelist whose historical fiction explores the lives of women often left out of the official record. For Inspired By Her, Eleanor draws on archival stories and local histories to create new text for stage and exhibition.
Erifili Davis
Dubbo’s 2024 Cultural Person of the Year and curator of the visual arts component. Working with artists and community contributors from across the Orana, Erifili curates a visual exhibit responding to local women’s stories.
Research & Inspiration
To support your creative development, we’ll host two online sessions — open to all Orana residents — designed to spark ideas and provide practical insights into researching and interpreting local women’s histories.

Online Author Talk: Eleanor Limprecht – Using historical events to inspire creative works.

Local History Talk: Dubbo & District Family History Society Inc. – Researching women’s stories, with a focus on lesser-known figures.
Participation in these sessions is optional but strongly encouraged for anyone submitting an EOI.

- 3-8 March 2026: Digital showcase on display at the Orana Every Woman Festival.
Stipend
Selected participants will receive a $200 artist stipend to help cover creative costs ($100 on selection, $100 on delivery of completed work).
Writers of five selected short pieces (up to 300 words) will receive $20 each.
