Social Gain amplifies good of the community-minded, into

impact-driven moments that matter.

About Social Gain

Hi, I’m Sharon Quill —storyteller, strategist, and socially awkward entrepreneur. This is me, living my best life, doing what I love: bringing people together, creating impact, and making a difference.

I’ve built a career at the intersection of logistics, emotion, and impact. Social Gain is the expression of everything I care about—event management, marketing for good, and driving social change through connection.

With over two decades of experience across events, communications, and community building, I help people create meaningful change in the places they live and work.

I’ve always believed that the best work happens when we lead with heart. My background in marketing and a lifelong obsession with deeply human communication means I look beyond ticket sales or polished presentations—I focus on how people feel, how they connect, and how lasting change begins with trust.

I’ve delivered all kinds of events—from national screening tours with AFTRS and film premieres, to high-impact fundraisers for Variety NSW, to intimate storytelling nights and most recently, the Dubbo Women’s Festival.

For years, I ran Sydney Writer, a niche business supporting incredible humans making a difference—coaches, psychologists, therapists, and well-being experts. Now, through Social Gain, I continue that mission—amplifying purpose-driven voices and supporting community initiatives, social impact projects, and cause-led campaigns.

Social Gain is more than an event service. It’s a strategic engagement partner for those who want to create experiences that feel personal, powerful, and grounded in shared values.

Through events like the Dubbo Women’s Festival, Slide Night, Let’s Taco’Bout It, and initiatives for essential workers and local leaders, we champion connection over perfection, and people over performance.

I'm here to help you create more than just events—I can help you build moments that become movements.

Better Together

At Social Gain, we believe in aligning—not competing. Our projects are designed to work with community, culture, and strategy, not in isolation. Every event we create is intentionally crafted to support social well-being, cultural expression, and regional priorities.

We integrate deeply human communication and values-led engagement into our work, ensuring each initiative contributes to something bigger than itself.

Our projects support key strategies including:

  • Dubbo’s Local Strategic Plan (2020) and the Keeping Communities Safe Report (2024)

  • Health, social, and cultural outcomes aligned with the Central-West Orana REZ and Dubbo’s broader regional strategy

  • NSW’s Creative Communities policy, which positions arts and culture as core to thriving regional life

A Collaborative Model

A great example of this approach is the 2024 and 2025 Dubbo Women’s Festival, held close to International Women’s Day. As Social Gain’s biggest event, it shows how collaboration, shared resources, and a win-win mindset can drive meaningful change.

Our regions are filled with remarkable individuals, groups, and organisations working tirelessly to improve community health, happiness, and well-being.

Yet, despite these efforts, barriers remain—access to support is uneven, and too often, passionate but exhausted people work in silos, competing for the same limited resources to help the same end users.

Social Gain brings good people together to do great things. Strategic alliances, creativity, and innovation are powerful drivers of social change. These elements are at the core of every Social Gain project, ensuring that we build solutions that are collaborative, sustainable, and impactful.
