Red Dresses, Iconic Dance Moves, and a Cause Close to Home: Dubbo’s Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever Returns
On Sunday 27 July, Dubbo will once again transform into a sea of swirling red as the town celebrates its third Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever. This magical, moving, all-inclusive event will see Dubbo join thousands worldwide in recreating Kate Bush’s iconic music video dance for her song, Wuthering Heights.

All proceeds go to The Wellness Centre at the Western Cancer Centre, Dubbo funded by the Western Cancer Centre Foundation inc
This event is for everyone, whether you’ve been practicing since 1978 or you’ve never heard of Cathy and Heathcliff.Â
The event organised and hosted by local duo Cam and Shaz, is more than a playful nod to pop culture, it’s an annual fundraiser for local cancer charities.
Cam and Shaz are locals who know the impact of having access to good cancer support. In 2022, after having lost another loved one they decided to do an annual community fundraiser.Â
Camilla ‘Cam’ Ward is a long-time community arts educator and artist in the Dubbo region. Sharon ‘Shaz’ Quill is the founder of Social Gain, delivering fun community projects for positive change.
The ‘Wall of Love’ will again feature, where participants can write the names of loved ones no longer dancing on hearts provided on the day.
Leading the crowd of Dubbo Kates on the day, is Dr Mary - Dubbo’s favourite dancing doctor of oncology.
Doors will open at 2.00pm so participants can practice the Wuthering routine with Dr Mary before the official Wuther. Ticketholders are also invited to a free rehearsal on Thursday 17 July for anyone wanting to learn the moves together, and practice tutorials are available when you book your ticket.

Local legend Dr Mary – Dubbo’s dancing doctor of oncology will guide us through the misty moves.

Hosted by local duo Cam & Shaz and proudly supported by Dubbo Regional Council.
The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is an event held at locations around the world where participants recreate the music video for musician Kate Bush's 1978 song "Wuthering Heights"
The event's inspiration is Shambush's The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience, which took place in 2013 in Brighton, United Kingdom, as part of Brighton Fringe, created by performance collective Shambush! who attempted to set an unofficial world record for the most people dressed as Kate Bush in one place, with hundreds attending.
The event is traditionally held around Kate Bush’s birthday, July 30. Other Australian cities that dance to Wuthering Heights Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Blue Mountains - to name a few. And all over the world from England, Scotland, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany to Canada, USA, South America, and more.

2025 proceeds will go to The Wellness Centre attached to the Western Cancer Centre in Dubbo.
The Western Cancer Centre Foundation (WCCF) exists to improve cancer care and quality of life for people living with cancer—and their families—across Western NSW.
Cancer can be an overwhelming, life-changing experience, and for rural patients, the challenges are amplified. Long travel distances, social isolation, and limited access to treatment and support place added pressure on those already facing a difficult journey.
The Foundation supports patients in three key ways: by providing education, offering personalised support, and funding the Wellness Centre at the Western Cancer Centre - a vital space for rest, connection, and care close to home.
